Full Story  Blog - 2009 Grads turn to public sector for work opportunities  With unemployment prospects for university leavers at its highest in 12 years at 44%, many graduates from the class of 2009 are looking to the public sector for employment opportunities. A recent study by the Higher Education Careers Services Unit (HECSU) showed that the rate of graduate unemployment increased 2.4 percentage points to 7.9% for the 220,065 students surveyed in January 2009. The last time graduate unemployment reached this level was in 1995/6 (8.1%). Full Story
